1. To conduct rehearsals and performances of Yeovil Chamber Choir so as to instruct and inspire everyone involved to achieve excellence in performance.  The person appointed will be expected to attend all rehearsals.  Please note that this choir does not have a regular rehearsal accompanist.
2. To participate ex-officio in Choir committee meetings, especially to advise on strategic and development issues for the Choir and to agree with the Committee the programme of future study/concerts.
3. To carry out voice assessments of prospective new and existing Choir members and those wishing to return after absence.
4. To appoint soloists and instrumentalists (when required) for concerts, by agreement with the committee and within budget.

1. Appropriate musical education and qualifications (including good keyboard skills).
2. Previous experience of developing and conducting choirs to a high standard, with effective time management.
3. Ability to motivate and inspire the Choir to achieve excellent results.
4. Willingness to prepare through regular rehearsal, and bring to performance, a wide range of suitable music.
5. Commitment to, and enthusiasm for, amateur music.
