David has a wide ranging and busy career as a conductor and repetiteur. He moved to Dorset to become Organist and Master of the Choristers at Wimborne Minster, training the cathedral style choir. He conducts the Bournemouth Sinfonietta Choir, the area’s leading chamber choir, with whom he has made two recordings and commissioned a number of major works by, amongst others, Tarik O’Regan and Cecilia MacDowall. 

He is Musical Director of Dorset Productions, with whom he has conducted productions of Mozart The Marriage of Figaro and Purcell Dido and Aeneas. He works regularly with the Portsmouth Choral Union, the Medici Choir and the Brandenburg Sinfonia in their regular series of concerts at St Martin-in-the-Fields. He has conducted Kokoro, the contemporary ensemble of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Salisbury Sinfonia, the Shaftesbury Orchestra and the Bournemouth Philharmonic Society. 

In the field of opera, David has worked with Dorset Opera, Co Opera Co, Oxford Summer Opera, the Oxford Operatic Society, Opera Istante, Sovereign Arts and OperaUpClose as well as training boys for British Youth Opera and Kentish Opera. 

He is an experienced hand with Come and Sing events, leading the Bournemouth Sinfonietta Choir’s successful annual series, biennial Voices for Hospices events, and as a guest  for the Portsmouth Choral Union and Hampstead Parish Church.
